A Plea to All Dog Walkers

Chailey Parish Council kindly ask that dog walkers when out walking in Chailey dispose of their dogs' mess by using the bins or taking home and disposing of.

The Sports Club in North Chailey are frequently having to shovel dogs’ mess left on and near to the sports field. Humans can catch Toxocaria by handling soil contaminated with infected animal faeces. Please remember that children play on this area of land. Do not put them at risk.

It has also come to the Parish Council’s attention that people have been washing their dogs in the cattle water troughs on Red House Common. Please do not do this. This is drinking water for the cattle. Dogs’ faeces can also spread Neospora to the cattle, which makes them infertile.
