Dementia Friendly Cinema

The Council has received information about an initiative at the Depot in Lewes. The Depot is putting on special screenings of films that are designed to be enjoyed by those living with dementia.

Queen's Jubilee Map

To celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in 2012, the Parish Council commissioned an illustrated map of our village in sufficient numbers to allow a copy to be distributed to each household.

Marking of Residential Frontage onto Highway

It seems that some residents may wish to mark out their frontage with rocks, logs, or other objects. There has recently been an increase in such cases.

Chailey Common - Dog Waste

Many residents and visitors who walk dogs on Chailey Common pick up the waste left by their dog. Some do not, and are asked to do so.

Free Service offered by UK Power Networks

UK Power Networks (who own and maintain the electricity cables and lines across London, the South East and East of England) have drawn the Council’s attention to their free Priority Services Register for those who may need more support in the event of a power cut.

The Parish Council would like to ensure that all local Clubs and Societies are mentioned in the relevant section of this website. Various Menu Headings list individual societies, organisations and clubs. Obviously, societies remain responsible for their own content.

Sheep may Safely Graze - on Chailey Green?

Our website now includes images of the many historic postcards which are held at the Windmill Rural Life Museum. One postcard of the Reading Room with sheep & cattle is based on an 1898 painting by William Sidney Cooper, who was a well-known Kentish artist.  The Parish Council would be interested to discover where the original painting is now kept. Can any of our readers help?
